What a lush, intimate piece of work this is.

Danielle Caruana aka Mama Kin and Emily Lubitz of Tinpan Orange have entwined their roots/pop worlds for this collaboration that meanders through reflective folk and rollicking bluegrass. The resulting nine tracks blend Caruana’s earthy croon (Only For You, Ned Kelly) with Lubitz’s sweet piping (Peach Tree, Broken Two). Thankfully, there’s been no overtly obvious effort to over-gloss their raw harmonies in post-production. With talent like theirs it’s little needed anyway, only adding to a unique flavour that should be embraced by fans from both camps.
