Adelaide power-pop trio We Do This return with their second EP since 2013’s Faraday Wave, a moody, quixotic release that has several influences haunting the many details, from The Cure to Foals to Bowie.
Opening song, I’m Not Going Anywhere is a festival-ready triumph of glistening robotic clockwork rock riffage that opens into a full-throated power ballad in the last minute or so, while excellent closing number, Don’t Tell Anyone Else, is a gauzy salute to Robert Smith and co. With crisp, full production, the whole thing feels far too short in the best way possible.
