Live Review: TOKiMONSTA offers a futuristic look into 'Giving Up'

Coming off her latest album Fovere and performances at festivals, TOKiMONSTA is releasing another accompanying music video for her track 'Giving up'.

Coming off her latest album, Fovere, and performances at festivals like Coachella, TOKiMONSTA is releasing another accompanying music video, this time for her track 'Giving up'.

The futuristic styled music video for 'Giving up' directed by David Gantz and Theo Cohn and starring both TOKiMONSTA and Jonny Pierce alongside Turen Robinson, not only features some stunning visuals but also contains a storyline (which I won't spoil for you), but the end result is something pretty emotional.

The visuals also time well together with the music for the track, as a lot of the sounds can relate to what's being show,  for example a synth that sounds like an emergency beep appearing when one of the characters is having trouble with his "spaceship" (which is never really shown, it's just implied. It might just be a car, plane or helicopter - but honestly I like the idea of a spaceship more, so I'm sticking with that idea).

The track is solid TOKiMONSTA brings her A-game for this track like she always does with her production while Jonny Pierce of The Drums fame does an excellent job with his vocal performance, he really adds an emotional layer to the tracks sound.

On working together with Jonny Pierce, TOKiMONSTA notes “Jonny is an artist I've admired from afar for a very long time. His music has always been inspiration to me, though we are probably seen as artists that exist in different areas of the musical spectrum. Us being able to work together signifies that breaking barriers can result in some pretty cool stuff.”
