Live Review: WATCH: The Young Lions 'Shades Of Grey'

The Young Lions are taking you on a sea voyage, then dumping you on a desert island. Luckily you have this track to accompany your trauma.

Close your eyes... Now imagine you’re stranded on a tropical island somewhere amongst the South Pacific ocean, surrounded by the sea. Limited access to food and fresh water, no iPhone reception and no internet connection – OH EM GEE, right? How on earth will you survive this??

Just ask The Young Lions, they’ve got that shit sorted!

Armed with only the ink, guitars and musical talent contained in their sunken vessel, Central Coast local dudes Israel Cannan and Benjamin Myer create a rootsy seaside sound- singing tales of love, loss and life- inspired by being stranded on an island!

The clip was filmed at their debut EP Launch back in March 2011, in a grassy, seaside field on the moonlit shores of Forrester’s Beach, Central Coast NSW. Surrounded by picnic rugs and lantern light, ‘Shades of Grey’ really captures the essence of The Young Lions calming, soothing oceanic sound.

Take a dip in some luscious seaside grooves.

Words by Chloe Webb.
