The family and friends so humbly keeping the music of SZYMON alive have just expelled another element to his forthcoming record, this time in the form of a film clip to accompany his debut single, 'Katyusha'.
A myriad of post-war footage and propaganda, Szymon's pal, Caleb Irwin, pieced the video together to highlight a slice of history that the late talent was so heavily interested in,
"I aimed to create something based on Szymon’s love of Europe in the early 20th century that reflected his sense of humour as well as his passions. In post-war Europe, there appeared such a stark contrast between how people lived and the hell they’d just experienced. Growing up with Szymon, I was always in awe of his ability to make the strangest of things work together in musical harmony. It’s pieced together with Polish post-war footage and propaganda as well as some German documented events."
Coupled with the ambiguity of the tracks incohesive vocal dynamic and anthemic sonic structure, 'Katyusha' has been granted a story that so beautifully exhibits two of Syzmon's great passions; now tidily united to illustrate his records leading single. It's also rather apt that it shares the name of a Russian wartime song, as well as a soviet rocket launcher of WWII.
'Katyusha' is the debut single taken from Szymon's only known body of work, Tigersapp, to be released soon via Eloper Records.
