Hannah Story introduces us to the latest single from Sydney's very own Songs.
SONGS' sophomore album, Malabar, shows a different side of the Sydney band, one that is unlike their self-titled debut.
Although it is still no doubt jangly pop, what with the strong focus on melodic riffs, there is an added shoegaze/ noise pop element to the album. This is made clear in lo-fi lead single, 'Alone When I'm With You'. The riffs are coupled with Ela Stiles' blaze vocals. Instrumentals are allowed room to breathe; they repeat the same chords and add other complementary riffs, helping the song feel textured and fuller than their other singles.

The clip shows off a bizarre house party environment: video games, boxer briefs, bare breasts and all. The band themselves are presumably the special guests, and by the end, it can be inferred that Stiles may not feel so alone anymore.
