Live Review: SiR gets trippy in 'W$ Boi' video

SiR is the latest artist to sign to Top Dawg Entertainment (Kendrick Lamar, Ab Soul and ScHoolboy Q) and he's come out with the video for his track 'W$ Boi'. The singer made his debut with the EP, HER, in 2016 and made an impression with his interesting style of singing and top tier beat production.

The visual style of this video is interesting, with the colour palette being flipped and messed up into purples and pinks, making the video pop out more in a sea of rap and RnB videos where the artists just sing the song with their crew.

The lyrics and singing are an introduction to SiR that will definitely stick with you. Multi layered vocals that sound smooth while flowing through the beat show a wide range of inflections throughout the track, highlighting the fact that SiR is more than just your average hip-hop artist. SiR had made a name for himself within the label for helping out on other projects, but now he's made his own tracks, he's setting the bar for himself high and it will be interesting to see how he evolves from here.

With similar production to other TDE artists, 'W$ Boi' really captures that modern Californian sound mixed in with his vocals layering a smooth feeling on top of the bouncing beat.

We hope SiR drops more music and videos soon as he's shown a lot of potential with his EP and the only way from here is up.
