Live Review: SHouse bring house nostalgia on 'Support Structure'

SHOUSE debut themselves with the feel-good house throwback 'Support Structure' featuring guest vocals from HABITS.

The Harpoons' Jack Madin and IO's service have combined their efforts on their new side project SHOUSE and debut with the feel-good house throwback to early house 'Support Structure', featuring guest vocals Mohini from HABITS.

'Support Structure' is a track where I can't help but think of other classic house songs, the track feels like it's been produced with the classic drum machines and synths, or at least with that sound in mind, giving the track a nostalgic feeling like it's meant to be played in a late 80's nightclub.

'Support Structure' is catchy, the vocals will get stuck in your head especially as the track loops the same lyrics over and over with variation to the effects and delivery rather than the lyrical content. SHouse made this track with a certain sound and style in mind, which i feel like they hit it on the head.

The video is a lo-fi black and white showcase of the vocalists dancing around and singing. The video has all these little bits of distortion and fuzz that make the video look like it's being played on a VHS tape, which fits the song perfectly when it comes down to aesthetic.
