Gold Coast songstress Montgomery has just dropped the music video for emotive and soulful track 'Not Around'.

It was only a short while ago that MONTGOMERY burst onto the scene, but boy did she make an impression.

After signing to I OH YOU late last year, alongside the likes of DMA'S and VIOLENT SOHO, the Gold Coast songstress has continued to impress with her magical vocals and delicate production. Her most recent track 'Not Around' was no exception to this, and the beautifully crafted track has just been accompanied by a music video.

The soulful, synth-heavy tune, which hears the lyrics "I set the tone so you'd keep coming home, but you're not around, you're not around. I gave it all when you asked me for more, but then you turned it down, and now you're not around", clearly indicates the breakdown of a relationship, or the demise of a once-great love.

The video, filmed with Kodak Super 16mm film, is set in the Praga District of Warsaw in Poland. This clip is definitely open to interpretation, however this is what I make of it. A happy couple (MONTGOMERY and an apparent ex) wander the Wintery streets, accompanied by a present day MONTGOMERY, who clearly knows the fate of the once-good relationship.

Director of the clip, Jessica Lawton, provided some insight into the video, stating, "Inspiration came from the track's natural hinging between the melancholy lyricism and notion of a love gone sour, and the instrumentation that, to me, suggested hope."

MONTGOMERY's debut EP New Clear War, which was co-produced with Tom Lansek of Big Scary and #1 Dads, dropped late last year. 'Not Around' followed the release of her track 'Pinata', and the two are just about as raw and emotive as each other.
