Rising pop duo Micra recently blessed us with their single 'Undercover Lover'. The pair have shared a stunning acoustic rendition of the track
Sydney based rising pop duo Micra comprised of Ivana Kafedjiyska and Robbie Cain, recently blessed us with their cathartic single 'Undercover Lover'. The track explores the process of surrendering, ambient style synths combine with engrossing bass and crisp production taking the audience on a perfect sonic trip into what it feels like to truely be yourself in front of a significant other. Now the pair have shared with us a stunning acoustic rendition of the track, which is premiering exclusively on Purple Sneakers today.
Filmed live at Rancom St Studios in Botany, NSW, the duo strip it back with an acoustic guitar, dreamy melodies from Robbie, Ivana's stunning vocal and very light percussive elements. What's created is an intimate performance of an already extremely freeing song. The acoustic rendition 'Undercover Lover' reaches its peak in its final third when its elements find full force. Light percussion taps ominously as Ivana's vocals reach top gear.
On the meaning behind the track, Kafedjiyska said, “There are some people in your life that go under the radar or your circumstances don't allow you to fully connect. This song is about when all the bullshit is done and you can just let your guard down to be with someone who's been under your nose the whole time.”
"We feel like our songs typically involve many layers and are a bit of a sonic landscape. Reducing the chaos and showing off the songs in a different light is something we love doing and it's refreshing for us too. It was filmed at Rancom St Studios in Sydney late on a Monday night. We did a couple of takes and called it because everyone was getting tired and grumpy."
