Live Review: Lapalux 'Puzzle' Ft. Andreya Triana (Official Video)

Lapalux shows no signs of slowing down since releasing his second album, Lustmore, and has just dropped the clip for his latest single 'Puzzle'

Still riding a wave of critical acclaim from the release of his second album, Lustmore last month, LAPALUX isn't slowing down just yet and has released some accompanying visuals for his most recent single, 'Puzzle'.

Saxophones and synths combine to create a sultry, steamy number that is suited as much for the bedroom as it is for a jazz lounge or smoke-filled bar. Lapalux again demonstrates his uncanny song-writing abilities in 'Puzzle', and now he has the clip to match it.

Teaming up with Nick Rutter, who directed the clip for 'Without You', things get a little strange in the video for 'Puzzle'. I'm not sure if it was intended to be as hilarious as I found it, but the clip sees central character Leon (played by James Eeles) fall in love...with his car. The mechanophilia makes his hallucinations and visions seem all too real, as he is lulled into a totally surreal world.

As a result of his love for the 1989 Porsche, Leon's relationship begins to break down as his hallucinations take control. The clip then takes a seriously dark turn (spoiler alert) and you're left feeling mighty uncomfortable. Thankfully, the clip's soundtrack being 'Puzzle' is there to put you at ease once more.

Lapalux continues to go from strength to strength, whether it be rubbing shoulders with Flying Lotus and releasing on his label Brainfeeder, performing at Vivid in 2013 or, most recently, being booked on the UK festival Strawberry Fields. When you're making music as gorgeous as this, it's pretty hard not to be kicking goals of that calibre!
