Admittedly, London based electro rising star GEORGIA is new on my radar, but with the release of her clip for 'Kombine' I sure as hell know who she is now! Taken from her self-titled album, 'Kombine' is weird and wonderful in all the right ways, and now she has the clip to match.
Reminiscent of M.I.A's style of clips, the glitchy, green screened animation and techni-coloured backdrops make for a perfect accompaniment to the upbeat and erratic track. Teaming up with arts collective Weirdcore who has previously done clips for Tame Impala, Miley Cyrus, Aphex Twin and, of course, M.I.A as well, the clip takes Georgia on an internet infused, desert adventure complete with 3D visuals and some pretty interesting characters.
It's strange in the best way possible, and shows off more of Georgia's innate versatility and exciting potential. It's totally infectious; her energy practically bouncing out of the screen and into your mind. She has been tipped by many as an artist to keep an eye on, and now she has the clip to show why. It's only a matter of time before even more people - like myself - catch on, and who knows what she'll do then!
