The collaborative standout 2014 track 'The Edge' by Donny Benet and Kirin J Callinan now has some accompanying visuals, filmed live on Italian television!

Two of Australia's most exciting and innovative artists, DONNY BENET and KIRIN J CALLINAN make one hell of a duo. Their collaborative track, The Edge was an exercise in how to do 80's/turn of the 90's nostalgia right, with their accompanying film clip merely enhancing just how great these two are, together and in their own right.

Filmed live on an Italian network television show, the clip sees BENET cool, calm and collected behind his synth and drum pads, in his trademark aviators and garish, ill-fitting suit. CALLINAN works the camera with his silky jacket and sensual, at times outrageous dance moves. His voice is passionate as he sings about this place he knows called "The Edge".

It's so 80's if you weren't familiar with these artists you would think it's vintage MTV footage. The stuttered synth samples and crisp, metallic beats as well as the groovy bassline compliment CALLINAN's dramatic voice perfectly.

The best thing about The Edge is they could have easily left it at about three minutes, making it a fun dance track that would have definitely been a highlight in a live setting, but never really taking off. Instead, they opted to include a two minute outro, where things really heat up. CALLINAN's breathy "alright"s and moaning swoon over the rapidly increasing intensity of the production. BENET never flinching as KIRIN gyrates around him, skidding on the ground and removing items of clothing, it's this added part that takes The Edge to a whole new level.

Taken from BENET's 2014 album - released on RICE IS NICE RECORDSWeekend at Donny's, this track was definitely a highlight, and now even more so. Both artists have become highly revered staples in the local music scene, with regular festival appearances under both belts. Let's just hope this is not the last we will hear from them as a collaborative team!
