Live Review: WATCH: Cults ‘You Know What I Mean’

The best way to summarize this video is to tell you that it’s batshit insane. And, by “batshit insane”, I of course mean that it’s awesome.

Warning: The new video from Manhattan indie pop sensation CULTS’, 'You Know What I Mean', is not for the faint of heart, the squeamish, or those who are terrified of being horribly disfigured during a stunt that involves jumping through a fire ring.

Let me explain:

In the video, Madeline Follin (vocalist) lives a life revolving around three things: A dilapidated carnival, a carnival daredevil – namely guitarist and percussionist Brian Oblivion – and her creepy-looking, over-protective father who doesn’t approve of her budding relationship with Oblivion. So, as all good fathers would, he sabotages a stunt that involves Oblivion jumping through a burning ring of fire, leading to him going down, down, down (as the flames go higher). And it burns, burns, burns.

The best way to summarize this video is to tell you that it’s batshit insane. And, by “batshit insane”, I of course mean that it’s awesome.
