'It's All Faintly Ridiculous': Pond Wade Through Dissatisfaction For Hope On 'Terrestrials'

Live Review: WATCH: Bon Iver 'Towers'

The Nabil Elderkin-directed effort for Bon Iver's 'Towers' is intriguing and features beautiful rustic imagery.

BON IVER's Nabil Elderkin - directed video for 'Towers' is gorgeous. Shot in a rustic landscape, it features a lone old man with eyes which never cease smiling

Beautifully shot, you can feel the spray of cool morning dew as he walks through a field, hear the golden-brown leaves and twigs crunch under his boots as he walks among trees, and feel the ocean lapping at his boots when he steps into the water.

It's an intriguing video made even more powerful by the slow, subtle buildup of layers of 'Towers', complementing the tiny bursts of blissful solitude which Elderkin captures perfectly.

I'm not even going to pretend to understand what happened with the wooden towers and the boat, but, as T.S. Eliot said in his essay on Dante"True poetry can communicate before it is understood."
