After what has seemed like months upon months upon months, we're happy to announce that our favourite Garage trio, BLOODS, have come 'back to us' (#lolseewhatwedidthere).
Part of the ultimately supreme Hand Games roster, this Sydney trio have been kicking around for a while now and making noise whilst they're there. They've released handfuls of demos and singles and 7"s but now it's time for something more substantial. Now it's time for Bloods' debut EP!
Due out later this year (August to be exact), Golden Fang, is shaping up to be one hell of a first official EP release. Especially if the rest of it is going to sound like its lead single - 'Back To You'.
Showing a slightly different side on 'Back To You', Bloods throw away their 60's Pop meets Punk that was prevalent on previous releases, opting for a super smooth Garage slow jam, we mean, as smooth as a Garage track can be. So don't expect a completely different band, all the elements of distorted guitars, harsh percussion and wails from vocalist MC are still there. It's all just been refined into something that has a little more depth, a little more meaning and that translates into something a little more awesome.
The clip is the pretty basic 'band plays to camera in studio behind a backdrop' kinda deal, but even so, it's still an enjoyable watch. So go grab someone and hold them close, as we agree with Triple J's Dom Alessio when he says, "It's one to hold your lover to".
