With the release of their highly anticipated album 'La Di Da' just around the corner Battles have released one of the best clips of the year for 'The Yabba'
PSA: Do not watch this film clip if you suffer from motion sickness. I felt dizzy from a minute in.
BATTLES are gearing up for the release of their first album since 2011's Gloss Drop in the form of La Di Da. Although the release is imminent, they're not letting up on keeping us extremely excited, with the recent release of their latest film clip for 'The Yabba'. Surreal, unnerving but totally hypnotic in it's delivery, this clip is a frontrunner for "Best Of The Year".

Eerie settings of the band performing whilst surrounded by an ominous crowd of people walking in circles around them are juxtaposed with crisp clean settings in forest lofts, 'The Yabba' is enthralling to watch from the first few seconds with an uncomfortable scene of a girl smiling at the camera spinning a ball on her finger. From there, the motion doesn't stop, and is perfectly suited to the flawless form of art rock that the revered trio are laying down.
'The Yabba' is a sprawling, spiralling, crashing and frenetic track that winds it's way along for just under 7 minutes, and every second is accounted for in this clip. The intricate math rock sounds with electronic flourishes are perfectly complimented with the technicolour whirlwind that is this clip. It's engaging from the first second, and has set the bar pretty damn high for basically all music clips to follow.
La Di Da is out September 18 via Warp. We can't bloody wait.
