Album Review: vhs dream - Departure

With luminaries like My Bloody Valentine and Ride reforming, and the likes of Perth's Fait, USA's Hammock and Poland's pioneering Stara Rzeka progressing, it appears the second coming of shoegaze may be upon us.

Star-gazing might provide a closer description of vhs dream's celestial sounds. Superlatives like "soaring" come close but don't do justice to the majestic cathedral echo of Come Around, as elsewhere A E I O U glimmers somewhere in the heavens overhead as might a purple-tinged jet stream. Get lost in this cloud nine of a debut.
