Everyone is calling this the Southern rock record.
Although there is a Southern rock influence, classic metal in the vein of Iron Maiden is what really shines through. The sound of the entire record is quite nostalgic. If you love a classic sound where riffs are backed by righteousness, rather than laced with aggression, this is certainly a record you’ll enjoy. Valkyrie is driven by Jake and Pete Adams, the latter well known for his axe duties in Baroness. As you can imagine there’s no shortage of pure guitar sorcery in every single song. Boo yah!
