Album Review: Ursine - Everything Looks Better

Tasmania's Ursine radiate a bright and youthful wholesomeness throughout these soft-rock tracks. Their sweet melodies settle into the background rather than smashing to the fore. Introducing a more frenetic pace, their friendly title track is sure to elicit an appreciative head-bop or two. However these simple compositions hardly exude a high level of expertise, with singer Harrison Osborne's heartbreaker vox unintentionally straining at times. Despite this being their second EP, it feels as if this amicable sextet are paving the way for a more mature release down the track. They play The Espy on 4 Jul.
