Japanese guitarist Takashi Ueno from pop outfit Tenniscoats indulges his most experimental impulses on this mind-bending release, feeding his guitar through synths and effects to explore strange, almost alien timbres, textures and harmonies. This kind of ambient music is very much an acquired taste as it drips and splutters from the speakers, lost in abstraction. Crystalline tones and metallic drones come together as Ueno aims to distort the very fabric of time and space. Each track crawls across the listener’s head space in strange synthetic tones until it sprouts and takes roots in your neural matter.
