“It's Such A Trap”: Meg Mac Refuses To Be Another Tragic Tale On 'It's My Party'

Album Review: Twin Beasts - Badlove

The result is slightly put-on and a little too much like Tom Waits in the desert, but would obviously work in a live setting.

Changing their name to Twin Beasts from The Toot Toot Toots was a very good idea, but there is a certain amount of proving that has to go along with that. If you're a fan of their music, Badlove is thankfully not a change in formula. Intellectual lyricism; ganged-up and shouted vocals; jangly, direct rhythm: it's all still there. Rearing its head, though, is a certain element of Morricone-ish Western theatrics. The result is slightly put-on and a little too much like Tom Waits in the desert, but would obviously work in a live setting.
