Album Review: TTTDC - Acronym

"A gargantuan beast of prog-inflected rock devolution, the band delves into desert-blasted rock and sinuous, elongated Hawkwind-esque meltdowns."

Melbourne trio TTTDC have more than a perplexing moniker at their disposal, as Acronym attests.

A gargantuan beast of prog-inflected rock devolution, the band delves into desert-blasted rock and sinuous, elongated Hawkwind-esque meltdowns with a frantic desperation that seems like a necessary expulsion of energy. With Acronym recorded live as a group, the brutality of tracks like La Chubacapra is all the more devastating. It’s all about the riffage though — two down-tuned guitars letting fly with ingenuity and furious force.
