Azur is a comforting and welcoming ride through sonic realms of clear guitar tones, soft vocal lullabies and of course a proud love of double-time rock beats on the ride cymbal, which is not a criticism, but complimentary to the drummer’s impressive fill speed.
The sun-warped psychedelic rock band from California has certainly assembled a favourable collection of tracks, but their lack of discerning hooks means each track doesn’t stick out any more over the other, but for penultimate track, Translucent, which descends into an intricate pool of twinkling electronic bleeps.
