Album Review: Trioscapes - Digital Dream Sequence

StarStar

It feels like the trio let over-playing for the hell of it get in the way of crafting memorable music.

More Trioscapes Trioscapes

There are bands for the radio. There are bands for musicians. Then there are bands for… themselves. A progy labour of love, Trioscapes certainly fall into the latter. While at times the bass and saxophone-heavy album might tantalise your senses, it feels like the trio let over-playing for the hell of it get in the way of crafting memorable music. Dan Briggs (bass) runs out of things to do after the first track and, unless you give a shit how many jazz fills someone can play in one bar, you won’t find a lot here.
