Album Review: Trey Songz - Tremaine: The Album

StarStarStar

"Everything we've come to expect."

More Trey Songz Trey Songz

For the most part, Tremaine: The Album, the latest full-length offering from Trey Songz is everything we've come to expect from the American R&B singer.

His smooth voice delivers some pretty explicit lyrics, exploring themes of sensuality and passion on tracks like Animal, Playboy and She Lovin It. However, a more vulnerable side of the singer is also exposed with the pining Picture Perfect and emotional, piano- and violin-carried Break From Love on which Songz croons, "I hurt you once before/I hurt you again".

With his seventh album, Songz proves he's not as one-dimensional as some of his previous releases have suggested.
