"For an hour you enter Tom Walker's head and, goddamn, it is a fantastical place to be."

To really get the most out of a Tom Walker show you have to adopt a suspended sense of reality. Even as punters drip into the audience for Honk Honk Honk Honk Honk Walker is already on stage, clad in a flesh-coloured shorts suit and kneepads, taking the front row through a hilariously rough video game that he himself made.

It only gets more obscure from there. Walker is honing the skills he so expertly demonstrated in his 2017 Barry Award-nominated hour Bee Boo with more of his trademark physical comedy and almost-nonsensical jokes.

It's in the nonsense that Walker really shines, his face lights up with an infectious euphoria every time the audience gets on board with one of his harebrained bits (the best of which is when he throws a screaming imaginary ball around the room).

It's so relaxing to see a show that's only purpose is to have fun. For an hour you enter Tom Walker's head and, goddamn, it is a fantastical place to be. As long as you leave your grip of the outside world at the door, Walker will trade you for a string of jokes so brilliantly silly that the laughing will make your cheeks ache.
