Tom Ballard: My Ego Is Better Than Your Ego

Ballard’s material is solid and is developing nicely, showing his skill as someone who doesn’t need to deny their Gen Y ness, but doesn’t need to use it as their only trick, either.

More Tom Ballard Tom Ballard

Let's acknowledge that 7pm on a Friday night is a weird time for everyone. For a breakfast radio host it's probably the same as about 11pm by their body clock but with less excuse to be a bit shabby; and for the audience it's not quite wind down from work time, not quite drunk enough to be the shabby the stage person wants. Either way it was a mountain we all had to climb tonight, and one, unfortunately, that seemed to get in Ballard's way. The show about ego was a good one (and we do like you Tom, honest), but if the audience isn't in the zone yet it's not necessarily their fault. Ballard's material is solid and is developing nicely, showing his skill as someone who doesn't need to deny their Gen Y ness, but doesn't need to use it as their only trick, either.
