Drawing from rock, punk, reggae and dub, Tjintu Desert Band's debut, Tjamuku Ngurra (pronounced Jam-akoo Noora), flows easily by the power of a strong rhythmic groove, with highlights aplenty in the form of Spanish guitar, rock-dog shredding and a voice hitting the high notes. Grandfathers Dreaming, one of the few moments of English, seems to come straight from a campfire session – clapsticks, harmonica and stunning harmonies going a long way to providing an insight into the rest of the album's lyrics for non-Luritja language speakers.
