It somewhat augments expectations but luckily there’s enough crunches and drops here with a worldly slant to more than excite the ears and soothe the psyche. Gamelan runs rampant through opener Enkidu, layers build then clip shut in Hectic, and Zuisudra is the first, at the midway point, to offer some lyrics. It’s a crazy, shambolic safari through the indo-pacific with trip hop, but it’s just so mesmerising and fun.
