The songs are tight and they know how to evoke beauty.

According to the record company's press release, This Wild Life “take pride in making music based in hardcore and punk rock, but with wider appeal”. That's an interesting way to describe the acoustic sap of Clouded. Look, there's nothing wrong with acoustic sap when that's what you're in the mood for. But there's a lot wrong with trying to dress it up as some sort of progressive-post-neo-new take on punk. The songs are tight and they know how to evoke beauty, melancholy, joy and everything; just don't piss in my pocket and tell me it's punk rock.
