Album Review: The Transatlantics - Find My Way Home

It is very rare to find an artist in the current crop of soul and R&B acts, which are a throwback to the Motown era. The Transatlantics are an exception to that and it is a refreshing change in comparison to a lot of their dance-influenced peers.

Their second album Find My Home is inspired, catchy and easy on the ears. The Harm You've Done is a sassy anthem for anyone whose been hurt by a lover. A Man Like That is sexy in a playful kind of way and immediately makes you want to dance. The track How Can I Love You is probably the most prime example of their Motown influence, with its honest yet simple lyrics, matched with melodic bass lines and horn sections.

The combination of Tara Lynch, Naomi Keyte and Laura Knowling makes for some amazing vocals, which compliment the eight-piece band just nicely. Find My Home may sound like it could reign supreme in the era of The Supremes, but it is a very modern and fresh sounding record in the now.
