"At times summery, melancholic and nostalgic."
Danish noise-poppers The Raveonettes have always channelled US surf culture, so it should come as no surprise they chose to release a record named after a big wave surf spot in Hawaii.
From the opening fuzz of Endless Sleeper and over-driven guitar pop of Sisters, it’s clear this is closer to the band’s opus Lust Lust Lust than it is the letdown pop of more recent albums. At times summery, melancholic and nostalgic, this is the duo’s finest effort in years and a great example of what shoegazey noise-pop can do in 2014.
