This album has gone in the opposite direction to the big name producers who are dialling up flavour-of-the-month indie band singers and trending R&B warblers.

James "The Range" Hinton has based his latest album around samples of everyday folks spilling their guts on YouTube from bedroom studios and the like. Perhaps it's the no frills source inspiration, but much of Potential is tangibly darker than Hinton's debut. Even amidst the gloom, though, there are shards of hope that pierce through, including the monologue of YouTube rapper SdotStar on the opening Regular.
