Album Review: The Madden Brothers - Greetings From California

A by-product of the Madden brothers’ media empire, this album plays out exactly like that. Each song panders to some stereotypical idea of genre. But you know the most annoying part? It’s actually a pretty good album. Good Charlotte were a punk band when punk was cool and then an EDM group when EDM was cool. They’re now a Sgt Pepper’s-aping indie act, but with those arena-rock leanings they’ve always had. Things flow with generous timing and structure, keeping dud tracks from standing out too much, proof Benji and Joel can still make interesting music.
