To create something so enigmatically heartbreaking but still maintain maturity is a feat far from simple, though The Narrowing achieves exactly that with an apparent and highly admirable ease; with the richest, most harrowing baritone vocals and the perfect amount of feelings (that is, a lot), this album hits the listener hard.

Emotional without giving into melodrama, powerful without compromising subtlety, The Leap Year have perfectly and realistically simulated a gorgeous interpretation of melancholy (one completely devoid of self-indulgence and petty whining) to produce what should really become your new favourite record.
