A Halloween-timed, strictly-limited release, 2011's 24 Hour Song Skull was a hard disc containing one 24-hour piece of music encased in a real human skull. On 7 Skies H3, The Flaming Lips edit that performance into ten short songs which, despite the project's pioneering nature, feel more like an exploration of their roots, with strong doses of Meddle-era Pink Floyd reverberating through melting marshmallow odes like Requiem amidst the howling, psychedelic freak-outs.
