Album Review: The Doobie Brothers - Southbound

StarStarStar

They’re still as good as they’ve ever been on stage

More The Doobie Brothers The Doobie Brothers

Having recently undertaken a tour around Australia, the Doobie Brothers have proven they’re still as good as they’ve ever been on stage, if they ever even needed to.

What then, bearing that in mind, of their studio efforts? It seems it’s the time for re-releases, and as the Doobs jump aboard that bandwagon, they bring with them both pleasant surprises and disagreeable material. Changes from the originals are sometimes as simple as a guest vocal; they invite many friends aboard in this album, but there’s some tasty instrumentation in there too.
