Melburnian seven-piece The Bon Scotts present, remarkably, album #3. Remarkable because these guys and gals have such a firm handle on creating a thoroughly entertaining, absorbing, purposeful album, yet adoration for them is still quite humble. Their folk slant in the plodding, percussive, horn-laden Limerence is what the multi-instrumentalists do well, but it’s singer Damien Sutton who’s responsible for what they do best on their latest, injecting his urban Joe Strummer voice into lyrics with some sombre reflections in standouts The Weekend Bends, Your Life With Other Boys and The Colours That You Hide.
