Album Review: The 1975 - The 1975

The 1975 have been around for ten years, yet they've waited until now to suddenly burst onto the scene with their debut. With so long to write songs and hone their craft, the Manchester group are indeed ready to take on the world. With jangly guitars, a driven rhythm section and lead singer Matthew Healy's pleading voice, it's a combination that has worked for other bands and once again proves a winning formula. From dark verses to soaring choruses, The 1975 doesn't get any points for originality, but is fuelled with undeniable passion and artistic vision.
