Album Review: Teenage Fanclub - Here

StarStarStarHalf Star

"As exuberant as ever."

More Teenage Fanclub Teenage Fanclub

Ten albums into a career spanning more than a quarter-century, Teenage Fanclub sound as exuberant as ever.

Here - recorded here and there in Provence and Glasgow - and once again featuring an enviably uniquely democratic sharing of songs from Norman Blake, Raymond McGinley and Gerard Love. Their four songs each complement each other quite genially. Two of McGinley's particularly stand out: The Donovan-esque hippy balm of Hold On and Steady State's hypnotic bubble drones, which clocks just four minutes (about ten too short). The Fannies may have been around the world, but Here is very homey.
