Opening band Emberville took to the stage and played their heart out to a rather unreceptive and surprisingly diverse crowd. The packed theatre was simply not into the hardcore act. It was an ill-paired booking that left punters pining for the headliner. Perhaps that was the intention?
The mob quickly perked up as Aussie hostess Vorpal Suicide sauntered on stage wearing a large male Suicide Girls tee as a makeshift dress and sky-high heels. She aptly warned the audience they were about to see a burlesque show unlike any other.
A traditional burlesque tease to Shirley Bassey's Big Spender kicked off the show with a saucy twist that led way into a Tank Girl-themed act, before six luscious ladies proceed to strip to the sounds of Bjork's Army Of Me.
Set after set of impressively tailored themes had fans jaw-dropped and pawing for more. Provocative parodies of Donnie Darko, Legend Of Zelda, MJ's Thriller, The Fifth Element, Planet Of The Apes, Kill Bill, Rocky Horror Picture Show and The Big Lebowski proved the burlesque troop did their research. Tatas and derrières were a plenty!

Renowned choreographer Manwe Sauls-Addison (her resume inked with Lady Gaga, Jennifer Lopez and Beyoncé) did well to prep the tattooed vixens to an alluring level. Best of all, the girls looked real: fit, but not fake with the trademark SG flare.
