Each week, we select one artist to feature as our Spotlight Artist. This week, we’ve chosen SORTAGOTH.
We dubbed her an artist to watch in 2017, and she's kicking the year off with huge things. Sydney gal SORTAGOTH is back making waves with her wacky and calculated brand of hyper-pop meets big bass on her new track 'Body Heat'. She's currently over in Japan with some of the Sidechains crew playing a couple of shows, so it's been an epic year already for her.
I'd hate to think about how long she spent getting this one accurate because every beat and every noise embedded into this is so aptly calculated. It's a heavy hitter, and works hard to take you through all of the ups and downs her sound has to offer.
'Body Heat' isn't a new direction for SORTAGOTH, but it generates continuity between what she's previously released and what she's listening to at this point in time.
You should definitely expect to hear this one in online mixes and hopefully club sets sometime in the near future.
