That might sound bitchy or snarky, but at worst, it’s a back-handed compliment. Sure, they wear their influences proudly on their sleeves, but also take the time to put a 2015 spin on them. Dark synths, brooding guitars, driving drums and dramatically sincere vocals… how much more black can Soviet X-Ray Record Club get? The answer? None.
