It’s a shot in the arm for both Souls Of Mischief and true-school hip hop in general.

More Souls Of Mischief More Souls Of Mischief

While the idea 20-year industry veterans need to be ‘presented’ by an up-and-coming producer is debatable, the assertion Souls Of Mischief needed a sonic renovation is probably not. Adrian Younge brings his cinematic, funky, live-sounding beats to the legendary Oakland crew. In keeping with the backdrops, the Souls have overlooked their somewhat stale wack MC bashing and come up with a narrative concept, bringing to life a fictional story of crime, tragedy and revenge. It’s a shot in the arm for both Souls Of Mischief and true-school hip hop in general.
