Album Review: Shit Robot - What Follows

With all the hubbub surrounding LCD Soundsystem's return, anything bolting from the DFA stable is going to be worth a gander.

Marcus 'Shit Robot' Lambkin's third is loaded with familiar faces (Juan MacLean; Nancy Whang; Hot Chip's Alexis Taylor; Reggie Watts…) who effortlessly slink between electroglide and techno-pulse modes. Whether outrageously camp and on a Suicide-fuelled, chem-crazed bender on Is There No End, or channelling a Kraftwerkian autobahn on Ten Miles High, Lambkin's focus on synthesised rather than synthetic composition makes What Follows an hypnotic, lush experience from start to delectable finish.
