Album Review: Sheryl Crow - Be Myself

Sheryl Crow is one release shy of double digits with her new album, Be Myself, and she seems to be moving forward in proud, powerful strides.

Opening track Alone In The Dark sets the tone for the whole album, and Crow's comfort in writing for a full band is fully evident from the opening chords. The songwriting relationship with producer and collaborator Jeff Trott is clearly still fruitful, too, with the record being directed in very precise and deliberate ways. Long Way Back isn't her strongest vocal delivery, however the rest of the album holds its own.
