The final instalment of 5pound Theatre's five-week challenge is a walk on the seedier side of Australian life. Sex Diary Of An Infidel commences with Australian journalist, Jean, and partner/photographer, Martin, making the journey to the Philippines in pursuit of a story on the country's sex trade. Events taking place both in Melbourne and Manila slowly reveal the motivations and vulnerabilities of all involved – from the lecherous Australian pimp, Max, to his crowning jewel transgender employee who dreams of more. The cast is strong tonight, the action blending well between scenes, and the intimate space is used to good effect, as has been the case over all five shows to date. 5pound Theatre should be proud.
