‘I Stay Out Of It. I Cook’: Even After 13 Years Between Albums, Coming Up With A Karnivool Setlist Remains Quite The Feat

Album Review: Sebastian Bach - Give 'Em Hell

For Baz diehards only.

As former band-mates enjoy a law of diminishing returns, larger-than-life/cartoonish ex–Skid Row screamer Bach plays to his strengths. Namely, in these post-Slave To The Grind times, taking cues from said classic, albeit with a modern sheen. Bach's wail remains able to negotiate punchy anthems (Temptation) and occasional overwrought balladry (cover, Rock N Roll Is A Vicious Game's country twang). There's filler, while also bizarrely comparing himself to actress Amanda Bynes (Taking Back Tomorrow). John 5's weighty guitar crunch assists; Duff McKagan's distinctive bass lines another selling point. For Baz diehards only.
