"It’s a charming addition to any party playlist."
This strangely monikered Melbourne trio ply an upbeat strain of goodtime garage-rock that’s insistent at times and cruisy at others, but always scrappily happy to dole out melody and hooks. The primitive percussion marries well to fuzzy and loose guitars, but it’s the catchy tunes which pack the punch. Matt Neumann’s warbling, manipulated vocals add both high-pitched levity (O’Clock, Wendigo) and occasional angst (Pig Eyes), whilst the “I’m getting high in the backseat” refrain of Shazon will lodge in your lobe and refuse to budge. Lazily anthemic, it’s a charming addition to any party playlist.
